Oakville Skating Club Policies
Payments
Full Season STARSkate and Competitive
Programs
1.
A non refundable deposit of $161 equal to the
Skate Canada fee, the OSC membership fee, and the raffle ticket booklets is required at the time of
registration. Payment may be made by MasterCard,
VISA, Debit Card, Cheque, or Cash.
2.
The remainder of the fees may be split
into five equal parts and paid on October 1, November 1, December 1, January 1,
and February 1. Post dated cheques or a
credit card number must be provided at the time of registration for these
installments. Installment payments may be made by MasterCard,
VISA, or Post Dated Cheques.
Overdue Accounts
Any member whose account is past due
will be notified in writing. If the
outstanding fees are not paid within thirty days you will be deemed a member
“not in good standing” and lose all privileges of membership including the
right to skate on sessions, try tests and compete.
Refunds
Full Season STARSkate and Competitive
Programs
1.
Refund requests must be in writing or
by email to the office.
2.
All refunds are pro-rated and the Skate
Canada fee and the OSC membership fee are not refundable.
Session Changes
Session changes are permitted at
anytime provided there is room on the session you want to move to. The first session change per season is free,
subsequent session changes will be subject to a $15 administration fee.
Supervision
Each skater must have a responsible
person present in the arena when they skate.
Please do not assume our coaches or staff are supervising your children.
Make Up Sessions
We cannot provide make up time for
missed sessions.
Pick Up Sessions – OSC Members Only
Sometimes a skater may wish to pick up
on an extra session to prepare for a test or competition.
1.
All skaters must contact the club
office to arrange and pay for any pickup before skating.
2.
Skaters may not pick up on a session
classified as full.
3.
Skaters must be qualified to skate on
the session they wish to pick up.
4.
Skaters may not pick up more than 3 of
the same session during one season. Session ice is not a pay as you go
program.
5.
No pickups are allowed on sessions with
group lessons.
Pickup Fees: $20.00 per
session for Oakville Skating Club members
Guest Skating – Non OSC Members
Sometimes a skater from another club
may wish to skate on an OSC session.
1.
All skaters must contact the club
office to arrange and pay for any guest skate before skating.
2.
Skaters may not guest skate on a
session classified as full.
3.
Skaters must be qualified to skate on
the session they wish to guest skate.
4.
Skaters may not guest skate more than 3
of the same session during one season. Session ice is not a pay as you go
program.
5.
No pickups are allowed on sessions with
group lessons.
Pickup Fees: $25.00 per
session
Volunteer Commitment
Volunteering is a requirement of
registration in all the STARSkate levels at the Oakville Skating Club. You may sign up for volunteer shifts via
email or in the club office. Most shifts
are worth 150 points. If volunteering
your time is not possible, you may choose to “buy out” of the Volunteer Commitment for
$150 a shift. Not fulfilling your volunteer commitment deemed a
member “not in good standing”.
Disclaimer
The Oakville Skating Club shall not in
any way be responsible for loss of property, damage, or injuries to persons,
including participants while on the premises.
Membership will be closed for any session which becomes filled. The Club reserves the right to change
categories or ice times at any times during the skating year, cancel programs
where minimum registration levels are not met, an pre-empt ice times for test
days and competitions. The Oakville
Skating Club and Town of Oakville are not required to make up lost time or
compensate customers for closing arenas due to “Acts of God”.
