News - "Cash Only" Skate and Dress Sale

Oaks Hockey Association (M.O.H.A.), Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey and the
Oakville Skating Club joining together to host the annual skate and equipment
sale scheduled for Saturday, September 11 from 9 am to 12 at the Oakville Arena,
133 Rebecca St.
Outfitting
a figure skater or a hockey player can be a costly venture. This community event benefits families with the
opportunity of purchasing gently used equipment at great prices. Skates, skating
dresses, shin pads, hockey pants, elbow pads and shoulder pads will be available
for sale, along with goalie gear, sticks and some jerseys and other
paraphernalia.
Families
wishing to sell their gently used equipment can drop off items on Thursday or Friday,
Sept. 9th and 10th, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. There is a $2 processing fee
for each item. Equipment experts will help sellers price the items for sale.
Items are sold on a consignment basis with a percentage of proceeds going to support
local hockey/skating programs.
The
skate sale is also a great opportunity for
families to exchange gear that their children have outgrown for equipment that
fits. At the same time, it's also a wonderful
way to contribute to Oakville's
skating community. Donations of unsold equipment are greatly appreciated and will
be given to children's groups in need of hockey/skating
equipment.
Please
note that only items in good condition are accepted and organizers reserve the
right to decline equipment that does not meet our standards. Helmets or
jocks/jills cannot be accepted for sale but helmets may be donated.
