Skating Registration Information
Recreational Programs:
Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. If you are a returning member and are unsure which sessions to register for, please refer to your 2007/2008 report card or check with your private coach.
Mail your registration form(s) and payment to: Oakville Skating Club 2400 Sixth Line Oakville, ON L6H 3N8 OR Fax your registration form with credit card information to the office at 905 257-3187. OR Access the registration form on this website ( FORMS ) and email the completed form to us at skating@bellnet.ca . SESSION FEES WILL NOT BE REDUCED FOR LATE REGISTRATIONS
Confirmations will be mailed for all registrations received by mail, fax or email. If you have not received a confirmation at least one week before the start of programs, please call the office at 905 257-7771 to confirm your registration.
How Do I Pay? Payment may be made in full at the time of registration or half of your winter fees (Sept. to March programs only) may be deferred to December 1, 2008. Payment may be made by cash, cheque, debit (in person), MasterCard or Visa. If paying by credit card, please be sure to write your card number and expiry date clearly on the registration form. Please make your cheque payable to Oakville Skating Club.
NSF cheques must be paid within 15 days of notification with a $20.00 administration fee. If the outstanding amount is not paid, all privileges of membership will be revoked.
Refunds and Cancellations Written requests for refunds must be received in the office by the business day prior to the third class. All refunds are pro-rated and are subject to an administration fee of $20.00 per skater. The Skate Canada membership fee of $31.00 and the OSC membership dues of $50.00 are not refundable. Refunds due to medical reasons must be accompanied by a Doctor’s note. These refunds will be pro-rated but are not subject to an administration fee.
STARSkate Programs:
How Do I Register? Registrations will be accepted for Home Club Returning Members on a first come, first served basis commencing when you receive your registration package. Mail, email , fax or drop off your registration to the Club office.
Registrations will be accepted for Non Home Club Returning Members and New Members beginning August 15, 2008 on a first come, first served basis.
How Do I Pay? Payments at the time of registration may be made by cash, debit, cheque, Master Card or Visa.
If you choose to apply your bursary amount to your registration fees, please deduct the amount on your registration form before calculating your payments.
Three equal payments are required in either of the following methods: 1) Cheque: One cheque for one third of your fees dated the day that you register, and two post dated cheques for the balance of your fees, in equal amounts, dated November 3, 2008 and February 2, 2009 must accompany your registration. Please make all cheques payable to “Oakville Skating Club”.
2) MasterCard or Visa Equal payments for your fees will be processed to your MasterCard or Visa. The first payment at the time of registration, the second payment during the week of November 3, 2008 and the final payment during the week of February 2, 2009. Please write your card number and expiry date clearly on the application form.
Alternate payment schedules will be considered upon request.
What are may OSC Membership Dues? The Oakville Skating Club is introducing membership dues for the 2008-2009 season. The dues will be used to cover costs for the increased professional, technical and administration support required in order to continue to grow and enhance delivery of our programs. OSC membership dues are $50.00.
What is the Ontario Skaters' Promotional Contest? The Oakville Skating Club is participating, through Skate Canada-Central Ontario Section, in the Ontario Skaters' Promotional Contest to create public awareness in the community for the sport of skating and fundraise for the Club. This contest is Ontario-wide and offers a chance to win one of thirteen prizes ranging from $500.00 RESP's to a new Ford vehicle. You pay $80.00 with your registration and receive 2 books of 20 tickets priced at $2.00 each to sell. Ticket booklets will be distributed in September when programs begin and the ticket stubs should be returned to the office when the tickets are sold. The Club appreciates your support in this fundraising initiative.
What is my Volunteer/Bingo Commitment? Volunteering is a requirement of registration in the figure skating levels at the Oakville Skating Club. If volunteering your time is not possible, you may choose to "buy out" of the Volunteer Commitment for $150.00 for every 150 points required. Bingo fundraising is required at STARSkate II, III and IV levels as part of your Volunteer Commitment. Bingo volunteers must be family members who are 18 years or older. Two undated cheques in the amount of $150.00, or your credit card information, are required with your Volunteer Form. Cheques should be undated and made payable to Oakville Skating Club. If you fail to attend your Bingo or Volunteer Commitment, your cheque will be dated and cashed at that time or you will be notified that a charge of $150.00 will be processed to your credit card.
The Volunteer Form and two $150 undated cheques for your Volunteer Commitment, or your credit card information, must accompany your registration.
What Should I Do Before I Register? ● Review the registration booklet and select your sessions ● Discuss your selections with your coach ● Select your Volunteer/Bingo dates and record them on your Volunteer/Bingo Form ● Read and sign your Code of Conduct Agreement

Affiliate Memberships Program Code: AFF01 Skaters not registering for Oakville Skating Club programs but wishing to maintain their membership in the Club may register as Affiliate Members. This membership includes the $31.00 registration with Skate Canada for the current year from September 1, 2008 to August 31, 2009. Affiliate members are entitled to vote at the OSC Annual General Meeting. This membership includes Skate Canada testing privileges. Affiliate members receive OSC member rate for session pick-ups. The Affiliate membership fee is $50.00.
Overdue Accounts and NSF Cheques: Any member whose account is past due by 15 days will be notified. If the outstanding fees are not paid within thirty days of notification, all privileges of membership including the right to try tests will be revoked. NSF cheques must be paid within 15 days of notification with a $20.00 administration fee. If the outstanding amount is not paid, all privileges of membership will be revoked.
