The success of our Club and members requires an open and honest relationship between Skaters, Coaches, Support Staff, Parents and our Board of Directors. We provide pamphlets to inform our membership about our programs and delivery of our programs. You may pick up our pamphlets just outside our office at River Oaks.

Private lessons may be arranged with any Oakville Skating Club Coach. You may contact the office to help with your selection of a private lesson Coach. There is a binder with each Coach’s information for your review. This is also posted on this Web Site.

Private lessons are arranged directly with the Coach. When you have decided on a Private lesson coach, please contact them and they will discuss their fees for service with you. There are different levels of NCCP Coaching Certification for Skate Canada Coaches that indicate their coaching expertise. Skate Canada Coaches set their own fees for service according to their NCCP Certification and number of years experience.

If a skater wished to change coaches there is a procedure in place that ensures the appropriate etiquette is followed;

There should be a discussion with your Coach to address the issues that have lead to this decision.
You should contact the coach you wish to change to and discuss their availability for lessons.
You must inform your former coach and pay any outstanding fees before you can commence taking lessons from your new coach.
Your new coach will contact your former Coach to ensure there are no outstanding fees owing.
Skate Canada and the Oakville Skating Club require that the former coach gracefully relinquish any skater who wishes to change.

You The Oakville Skating Club Coaches are bound by the Skate Canada Code of Conduct. This is available for your review in the Skating Club office.

Coaches are required to provide a schedule of their Fees for Services to their students each year. Some services include lessons, test supervision, competition supervision and music CD’s or tapes.
