JOB OPPORTUNITIES

 

Coaching Position, Oakville Skating Club

The Oakville Skating Club is currently looking for coaches to teach our Learn to Skate programs which start in October through to March.  Successful applicants must be either a CanSkate or Level 1 Skate Canada certified coach.  Please forward your resume to skating@bellnet.ca 

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Our club and the sport could not exist without the generous support of volunteers.  It can be very gratifying to get involved, particularly when one sees the faces of the young children alight with joy as they participate in their first competition or ice shows.  I wonder how many dreams of the stars of figure skating were born during home-club events like these?  

This year is an ICE SHOW year and the CLUB COMPETITION will be held during December, 2005.  We are going to have a very busy winter season with these events and Test Days, the smooth operation of which, depends on volunteers like YOU! 

If you are able to volunteer your time any of these events or have a business and can offer sponsorship, please call Joann in the office (905) 257-7771,  and give her details of how you would like to be involved.  A volunteer form can be downloaded from our Forms Page.

We are specifically seeking help in the following areas:

Test Days (dates TBA)

  • Music Players   (we will train music players!)
  • Ice Captains

Club Competition (Date TBA - December, 2005)

  • Planning Committee
  • Ice Captains
  • Hospitality (Food)
  • Set-up Crew
  • Clean-up Crew
  • Music Players   (we will train music players!)
  • Registration Desk

Committees:  (Commitment for each varies)

  • Awards Banquet Committee
  • Club Clothing Sales Committee
  • Program Assistant Committee

Skate and Dress Sale 

  • Friday Drop-off Volunteers (September 21, 2007)
  • Saturday Sale Volunteers (September 22, 2007)
